Welcome to Sister Cities Association of Belvidere

Since 1988 the Sister Cities Association of Belvidere has been an active, engaged member of Sister Cities International. Over the past 20 years scores of volunteers have worked to establish and nurture relationships with our two sister cities: Schwieberdingen, Germany and Vaux-le-Pénil, France.

These connections have educated and enriched participants from all three locations, including the many exchange students who have travelled between the cities over the years.

SCB is always accepting new volunteers to join this exciting global community. Our annual activities include a youth exchange program, a young artists' competition, participation in Hometown Christmas, and much more! Our Sister Cities

In 1988, Schwieberdingen, Germany became Belvidere, Illinois' first sister city. Vaux-le-Pénil, France followed just over a decade later in 1999. Our connection with these two cities is unique because not only are we sister cities with each of them, but since 1990 they have been united as sister cities with each other as well.
